The Tuscarora Birds
Back to Tuscarora Language Home

The students at Tuscarora School study their language every day. They are learning the names of some local birds in the Tuscarora language. While they learn the words, they also learn the specific sound each bird makes. To learn what our students are learning, click on the bird names to hear students pronounce the word. Click on the bird picture to hear the actual sound of the bird. *
* All bird sounds are ©Library of Natural Sounds, Cornell University. Used with permission. *
NOTE: Bird songs are fairly long and require some download time. Please be patient if you want to hear them!
