Fifth Grade Quilt

The fifth grade class created a collaborative "Heritage Quilt" with their art teacher, Mrs. Hessinger. The quilt was made with both traditional and modern quilting techniques and coincided with their study of colonial times in social studies class. Each student had to create an individual quilt block which was based on personal experience and heritage. Members of the community volunteered their expertise to help the students embellish their work with traditional beadwork. The completed quilt now hangs in the school's main stairwell.
