Fourth Grade Longhouse Projects

Each year the fourth grade students at Tuscarora School study about Iroquois longhouses. They learn about the structures and they also learn the Tuscarora words for parts of the longhouse. Then they create a longhouse on their own. It is a family project and is done at home by the students and their families. They use as many natural materials as they can to create their structures. Many students add some of the items that were found inside a traditional Iroquois longhouse.
