Beadwork by L. Rickard

The beadwork on this page was done by L. Rickard, Turtle Clan, Tuscarora Nation.

 

The collar at left was made for L.Rickard's daughter and displays the turtle clan symbol. Close-up images show the turtle and the flower which is done in raised beadwork. All the stitching and backing is done by hand.

 

These barettes show a variety of popular floral designs.

The one in the center also has rods as part of the design.

This shows a bird pattern done in raised beadwork. The bird appeared on a hat made for her grandaughters.

This hat has the bird design shown above.

It has multicolored ribbons down the back

and is entirely sewn by hand.
