The Tree of Peace

 

 

This is the Tree of Peace of the Iroquois Confederacy. It is a symbol of the strength and protection offered by the Constitution of the Iroquois Confederacy.

The EAGLE on top watches over all.

The BRANCHES are for those who seek its shelter.

The ROOTS spread in the four directions: north, south, east, and west

The WAR CLUB is buried under the ground to signify peace.
